Pianist Federica Colangelo is working on Forward, the fourth album with her trio Acquaphonica, joined by bassist Igor Legari, drummer Giovanni Nardiello, and guest Carnatic percussionist BC Manjunath.
Founded in Amsterdam, Acquaphonica has released three albums: Private Enemy (2012), Chiaroscuro (2016), and Endless Tail (2019).
Her music blends jazz, 20th-century European and American classical influences, and South Indian rhythmic traditions.
Colangelo has also composed for large ensembles and collaborated on cross-cultural projects merging European composition with Carnatic improvisation.
She has performed widely across Europe and India, appearing at major jazz festivals and venues.
