In spring 2024, Josi Costi turned his sister’s Richmond home into a recording space with engineer Viktor and a 4-track tape machine. Joined by long-time collaborators Tal Janes (guitar) and Ben Reed (bass), they recorded ten songs live to tape. The house and its surroundings, creaking floors, footsteps, and birdsong, became part of the album’s character. Tal later produced the record, adding textures with Josi, while percussion came from Rod Oughton and mixing from Brett Shaw. The result is a warm, raw, analogue debut, shaped by friendship, trust, and time.
